Samsung's Screen recorder has more settings than most Android recorders. Here's what each one does and how to set your defaults.
Where the settings live
Go to Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recordings (the name varies slightly by One UI version). Then open the Screen recorder settings.
You can also long-press the Screen recorder tile in the Quick panel to jump there.
Sound
- No sound: a silent video.
- Media sounds: the phone's audio (apps, games, video). Your mic stays off.
- Media sounds and mic: phone audio plus your voice.
Set the default here, so you don't have to choose every time.
Video quality
Higher quality looks sharper but makes much bigger files. For sharing on messaging apps, a lower setting is fine. For tutorials or demos, use a higher one.
Selfie video size
Samsung can add your front camera as a small overlay while recording, which is great for reaction or tutorial videos. Set its size here, then turn it on from the recording toolbar.
Show taps and touches
Turns on visible touch indicators so viewers can see where you tap. Look for it in the recorder settings.
The recording toolbar
While recording, a small toolbar appears, typically with:
- Draw: annotate on screen as you record.
- Selfie video: toggle the front camera overlay.
- Stop.
Where files go
Open Gallery. Screen recordings appear with your other videos.
For first-time steps, see how to screen record on a Samsung.
