Recording a Zoom meeting on iPhone works differently from a computer. The phone app can only record to Zoom's cloud, which requires a licensed (paid) account.
Requirements
- You're the host or a co-host.
- Your Zoom account is paid (Pro or higher).
- You're signed in to the Zoom app.
How to record
- Start or join the meeting in the Zoom app.
- Tap More (three dots) in the meeting controls.
- Tap Record to the Cloud.
- A recording indicator appears at the top of the screen.
- To stop, tap More > Stop Recording, or end the meeting.
Where the recording goes
The recording is not saved to your iPhone. Zoom processes it after the meeting, then it appears in your account:
- Sign in at zoom.us in a browser.
- Open Recordings.
You can download it from there if you want a copy on your phone.
On a free account
The Record option won't work on iPhone with a free account. Your options:
- Join from a computer and use local recording, which is free.
- Ask a host with a paid account to record.
- Use the iPhone's screen recorder, but expect the other participants' audio to be missing, because call audio is often excluded from phone screen recordings.
Tips
- Keep the iPhone plugged in for long meetings.
- Turn on Do Not Disturb so calls don't interrupt.
- Tell attendees you're recording. Zoom shows a notice too.
