How it works

Compress a video in three steps

Make any video small enough to send, right in your browser.

01

Add a video

Drop in an MP4, MOV, or WebM, including iPhone videos and screen recordings. It stays on your device.

02

Pick a target size

Choose 20 MB for Discord, 25 MB for email, 10 MB for a quick share, or any custom size.

03

Download the MP4

The tool encodes the sharpest video that fits under your size. No watermark, no sign-up.

Video compression guide

Hit an exact file size without guessing.

Most compressors ask you to pick a quality and hope. This one works backwards from the size you need: it splits the budget between picture and sound, picks a resolution that can carry it cleanly, and checks the result. If the file lands even slightly over, it re-encodes it smaller.

Why resolution matters

A small file spread across 4K pixels looks blocky. The same file at 720p looks crisp. Auto picks the sharpest resolution your target can support, so you don't have to.

Long videos need more room

Size is bitrate times length. A 30-second clip fits easily in 10 MB, but a 10-minute video in 10 MB will look rough. Trim it first with the video trimmer if you only need part of it.

Screen recordings compress well

App demos and screen recordings have large still areas, so they stay sharp at small sizes. Camera footage with lots of motion needs more room.

Plays everywhere

The output is H.264 MP4 at up to 30 fps with AAC audio, the most widely supported format for phones, browsers, Discord, WhatsApp, and email.

FAQ

Video compression questions

Is my video uploaded to a server?

No. The video is compressed by your browser on your own device. It never leaves your device.

How do I compress a video for Discord?

Add your video, pick 20 MB (Discord's free upload limit), and press Compress. The tool chooses the resolution and bitrate and makes sure the file lands under 20 MB.

Will compressing reduce quality?

Some, since the file holds less data. The tool keeps it as sharp as possible by lowering the resolution only as much as the size needs. Short clips usually look almost identical.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes, in Safari on iOS 16.4 or later. On phones the limit is 1 GB per video.

Is there a watermark or a limit?

No watermark, no account, and no daily limit. Files can be up to 4 GB on a computer.
