How it works

Convert MOV to MP4 in three steps

Make iPhone and Mac videos play anywhere, right in your browser.

01

Add a MOV file

Drop in a video from your iPhone, Mac, or camera. It stays on your device.

02

Check the format

The tool reads the codecs inside and picks the fastest path: an instant copy when possible, a high-quality H.264 encode when needed.

03

Download the MP4

Get an MP4 that plays on Windows, Android, and the web, with no watermark and no sign-up.

MOV vs MP4

Why your MOV won't play, and how MP4 fixes it.

MOV and MP4 are both containers: boxes that hold video and audio. The box is rarely the problem. What matters is the codec inside. Since iOS 11, iPhones record in HEVC (H.265), which many Windows PCs, Android phones, and websites can't play without extra software.

Already H.264? It's instant

Screen recordings and many camera files are H.264 inside a MOV. The tool copies the streams into an MP4 box without re-encoding, so a 1 GB file converts in seconds with zero quality loss.

HEVC from iPhone

For HEVC videos, Most compatible re-encodes to H.264, the format everything plays. Choose Keep HEVC if the video is only for Apple devices and you want an instant, smaller file.

Stop it at the source

On iPhone, go to Settings, Camera, Formats and choose Most Compatible. New videos are then recorded in H.264 and play everywhere, at the cost of larger files.

FAQ

MOV to MP4 questions

Is my video uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion runs in your browser on your own device. Your video never leaves your device.

Will I lose quality converting MOV to MP4?

Not if the video is already H.264: it is copied into the MP4 without re-encoding. HEVC videos converted to H.264 are re-encoded at high quality, so the difference is very hard to see.

Why is the MP4 bigger than my MOV?

HEVC is about twice as efficient as H.264, so the same video in H.264 needs more data. That is the cost of playing everywhere. Choose Keep HEVC to keep the original size.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes, in Safari on iOS 16.4 or later. On phones the limit is 1 GB per video.

Is there a watermark or a limit?

No watermark, no account, and no daily limit. Files can be up to 4 GB on a computer.
